Carrie Bala teaches mathematics at Wasatch High School, with 20 years of experience in her career. She received her Masters of Mathematics from Utah State University in 2010 with a project evaluating the implementation of standardsā€based grading in her school, and has recently begun to pursue a PhD at Utah State, as well. She has served on the board for the Utah Council of Teachers of Mathematics and presented at their annual conference. She has also been involved in leading professional development courses for other mathematics teachers at both the district and state level. Currently, Carrie is a Math for America master teacher fellow, trying to build enthusiasm for mathematics in her community. Carrie loves spending time with her family, taking road trips, hiking, puzzling, reading, doing yoga, and eating pizza in Italy.
